19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts
A revitalized Medvedev secured his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The athlete, a former number one, has endured a torrid season, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with long-time trainer his previous coach.
Currently training with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks his maiden trophy after the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt after spring of 2023.
The win also means the Russian has won 21 championships at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"For the first time I have attended a competition with my both daughters together, so to win a championship is really nice," stated world number 14 the champion.
"This title is in honour of my child Victoria, because the first title I won when my child Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his past six championship matches, comprising in Halle in the past months.
The player's counter-punching strategy and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had led observers to wonder if his ability to perform at the elite level was finished.
Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play positively, supported by an enhanced service.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, taking four of the final five points to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped service breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his first tour championship, seized the initiative to create a final set.
Moutet rescued four initial chances in a close deciding set before Medvedev broke to 15 to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured victory with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
