Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a colorful mix of characters, and a gripping narrative including divine entities, demons, and malevolent powers growing in power within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season are included.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of adventurers who will split off from the central cast to undertake their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at one table would be impossible.
That’s why, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Overture, connecting the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might look unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the group knows exactly where to head next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his obligations and fled to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to leave the city the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, wants revenge.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and warns that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to kill the fighter and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- But, their status as important members in the powerful family could assist the party enter places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a life debt to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are known criminals.
- The warrior and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
From episode three’s follow-up content, we learn that the Soldiers table will not appear next week, leaving the other eight cast members to assemble the Seekers and Schemers tables.
